UK - Lane Clark & Peacock says it has hired Mercer Human Resource Consulting principal Mark Stocker as partner within its London actuarial team.

It said he was Head of Professional Affairs at Mercer, acting as account manager to a range of clients across various disciplines such as pensions, investments & administration and is an expert in private equity work.

"We are delighted that Mark has joined LCP," said LCP managing director Tony Mason.

"He is well respected in the industry and brings more than 20 years' of experience to his new role, including strong knowledge in the area of professional standards."

Meanwhile, Mercer Investment Consulting has named Jeff Gabrione, 38, as head of Americas manager research. He is based in Chicago, having joined the firm in 2003.

"Jeff has established a highly regarded reputation as he has taken responsibility for our research on alternative investment strategies, an area of expertise especially valued by our clients," said Rich Nuzum, Americas head for Mercer Investment Consulting.

"Many of our institutional clients are increasing their allocations to hedge funds and other alternatives to diversify their sources of return and thereby reduce risk.  They are actively seeking Mercer Investment Consulting's insights and recommendations in these areas, and Jeff's work has been critical to helping us meet that demand."
