SWITZERLAND/UK – The Centre Europeén pour la Recherche Nucléaire (CERN) the Geneva based European nuclear research centre, has appointed London based MFS International to run a SFr50m (€33.9m) active European equity mandate within its pension fund.
The CERN pension fund has assets of around SFr4bn and invests across a wide range of asset classes including equities, fixed income, real estate and cash.
Says Paul Price, director of international marketing at MFS UK: “We are delighted with this appointment. CERN is one of the largest European pension funds and an extremely prestigious client.”
MFS joins Barclays Global Investors, Pictet & Cie, JP Morgan Fleming, Merrill Lynch UBS and Robeco, among others, as asset managers of CERN’s pension fund’s assets.
