NETHERLANDS- Leen Meijaard has been appointed as director of Benelux sales and relationship management at Merrill Lynch Investment Managers in Amsterdam. Meijaard will be working alongside managing director Martin Hoogendijk.
Supported by a small sales team in Amsterdam and London, the two will be jointly responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with Benelux institutions.
A spokesman for MLIM reported the addition of Meijaard as a conscious move to expand the Benelux institutional team. “We are keen to develop business in this field and respond to the increasing demand from our clients.” He added that there are no plans to add to the team in the near future.
Although working as part of the Benelux sales and relationship team, Meijaard will be concentrating on Dutch institutional clients.
Prior to being appointed the new position Meijaard was managing director of marketing for New Flag Asset Management.
