NETHERLANDS – Dennis van den Bosch, head of treasury at MN Services, is to join Fortis Merchant Banking as director of currency management.
Fortis said that van den Bosch, who’s been with the €30bn pensions management company since 1996, would join on March 1. It added that he was responsible for running the in-house currency absolute return mandate and the strategic currency hedging program.
In addition he was responsible for selecting external currency managers and global tactical asset allocation managers. And he was responsible for capital markets deal execution, Fortis said.
“This is a great opportunity for me to join a dedicated team of professionals within Fortis Merchant Banking with just one objective in mind: to provide the best solution for institutional investor currency programs,” van den Bosch said.
In recent months, several of MN’s top executives have left, including its director of strategy and development, managing director of asset management, legal head and account management chief.
“Dennis brings exceptional expertise and experience in currency management”, says Fortis’ head of currency management Bob Arends.
“His appointment to the team emphasizes Fortis Merchant Banking’s long-term commitment to blend investment management experience in currencies and academic research”.
