GLOBAL - Roland van den Brink, a veteran of the Dutch pension fund industry, is to become a lecturer of pension fund management at Nyenrode Business University in the Netherlands.
From the beginning of next month, the former managing director for investments at the metal workers scheme PME will join as principal of the university's Europe China Institute.
Van den Brink, who was named director of international relations at fiduciary manager Mn Services last year, has more than 25 years of experience in the pensions industry, where he held both investment-related and senior management positions.
He also served as president of the Dutch Actuarial Association from 2003 to 2007.
In his new role, he will work closely with Prof. Dr. Haico Ebbers, chairman of the Europe China Institute.
Ebbers said: "The arrival of Roland is an important addition because his broad global experience fits with our ambitions and his theoretical study background assures the academic perspective."
Van den Brink added that China would become increasingly important to the Dutch market and continental Europe as a whole.
"One of the most significant aspects is to establish and develop long-term relationships and to strengthen confidence on the basis of expertise and experience," he said.
"This requires a broad background, and I look forward to furthering my career by creating and expanding business opportunities."
