UK- Henderson Global Investors’ director of institutional marketing John Nestor is leaving to take up a position as head of Citigroup Asset Management’s institutional business in Europe.
In the new job he will also oversee and build Citigroup’s institutional business in Africa and the Middle East as well as heading up the global consultant relations division.
Nester, who joins in early November, has sixteen years experience in institutional sales, marketing and client services, the last nine of which he spent with Hendersons.
Most recently he was director of institutional marketing & client services, responsible for managing all non-investment aspects of the institutional business.
This included managing growth of the UK institutional business, global consultant relations, investment communications, RFPs and client service management.
Before Henderson he held sales and marketing positions for Yamaichi Capital Management in Europe and The WM Company.
Henderson has yet to find a replacement and until it does, the institutional marketing and client services teams will report to UK managing director Mike Clare. A spokesman for Henderson says they have yet to decide whether to promote internally or look elsewhere.
