Global asset manager BlackRock has launched a UK trustee education platform – the Trustee Educational Academy (TEA) – with the purpose of providing educational support and create forums for discussion within the pension fund trustee arena.
The TEA is available to all trustees and their consultants representing UK pension schemes in a professional capacity through one simple registration link, gaining access to pertinent content which counts towards their continued professional development, the firm said.
Gavin Lewis, head of UK institutional client business at BlackRock, said, “The past three years have seen a remarkable amount of change in UK pensions and an increasing amount of information that trustees need to be across. Our Academy will provide them with the support and help they need to stay educated and informed, ultimately for the benefit of their members.”
The Academy will cover topics across key trends affecting the UK retirement landscape such as endgame solutions for defined benefit schemes, retirement demographics, scheme consolidation and governance.
It will deliver this through a series of whitepapers, educational videos/podcasts and thought leadership articles, BlackRock said.
Starting in November, the TEA will also offer a series of virtual and in person events encouraging conversation, questions and debate.
