AP4 – Niklas Ekvall has been named chief executive, succeeding Mats Andersson, who is stepping down after a decade in the role. Ekvall, who will join the SEK310bn (€33.2bn) Swedish buffer fund at the beginning of October, was the deputy chief executive and CIO of AP3 for five years, leaving in 2004 to join Carnegie. Ekvall joins AP4 from Nordea Bank.
Oddo Meriten – Leonardo López has been appointed to the €46bn asset manager as the head for Spain and Latin America. López was most recently executive director at ETFs Source for Spain, Portugal and Andorra, and before that he was sales director at Threadneedle Investments.
Pensioenfonds Medewerkers Apotheken – Ronald Sijsenaar has started as adviser for risk management at PMA, the pension fund for pharmacy staff. At the moment, he is interim risk manager at the €42bn metal scheme PME, a member of the supervisory board at the Dutch pension fund of Rockwool and interim head of risk and control at asset manager SPF Beheer.
Investec Asset Management – Iain Cunningham has been appointed a portfolio manager in the asset manager’s multi-asset team, joining from Schroder Investment Management, where he worked for nine years. At Investec, he will report to Michael Spinks, co-head of multi-asset growth.
Bouwinvest REIM – Gerald Warmerdam has been appointed strategic investment adviser at the Dutch real estate investment manager, effective 1 June. He has been tasked with managing the account of BpfBouw, the €51bn pension fund for the building sector. Warmerdam has more than 10 years of experience in the property sector at the insurers Achmea and Delta Lloyd, where he has been responsible for account management for pension funds and insurers. Also at Bouwinvest REIM, Jaap Landkroon has been named relations manager for existing institutional clients. He has also been tasked with acquisitions for the three Dutch sector funds of Bouwinvest. Landkroon has been asset manager for the Residential Fund since 2008. Before then, he worked at ING Real Estate Finance and ING Investment Management.
