Aon, PMI, PwC, AODC, IFM Investors, Siemens, Faros
Aon – The consultancy has appointed Craig Campbell as UK head of responsible investment.
Campbell, a senior investment consultant at the firm for the past couple of years, joined Aon in March 2021 as an investment consultant. He has more than 17 years of experience in advising a wide range of institutional clients.
In his new role, Campbell will draw on the firm’s expertise in risk, modelling, asset manager research and asset allocation to support better responsible investment decisions and develop innovative client offerings.
Pensions Management Institute (PMI) – The institute has re-appointed Robert Wakefield as its president during its 48th annual general meeting on 1 August 2024.
As president, Wakefield will remain chair of the advisory council and as a non-executive director (NED) of the board. He is currently head of pensions administration at First Actuarial and has worked in the UK pensions sector for over 30 years in a variety of roles, including pensions administration, actuarial and scheme secretarial with Mercer and Barnett Waddingham.
Both Rosie Lacey of Costain and Rachika Cooray of LCP also remain as vice presidents and will continue to serve on the board as NEDs.
PwC – Gareth Henty is the firm’s new head of pensions, while Mark Jennings has been named head of the pensions employer covenant and restructuring team, having previously led PwC’s regional covenant practice.
According to PwC, it has the largest specialised employer covenant team in the UK, with over 50 people based in eight offices.
Henty has been with PwC for 18 years and became a partner in 2016. Throughout his career he has advised trustees and scheme sponsors across a full range of pension issues and has also acted as a pension scheme trustee for several years.
Asset Owner Diversity Charter (AODC) – The AODC, a UK initiative launched in 2021 to push asset managers on diversity, has completed its advisory board appointments. Joining the board are Deborah Finlayson from the People’s Partnership, Femi Adigun from Standard Life, and Yasmine Chinwala, partner at New Financial.
IFM Investors – Else Bos has joined the IFM board as an independent director. She was formerly the chief executive officer and chair of the executive committee at PGGM.
Most recently Bos was an executive board member and chair of prudential supervision at De Nederlandsche Bank (DNB). Her career has included senior positions at ABN Amro Asset Management and NIB Capital Asset Management.
Siemens – The German technology giant has appointed Johannes Jasper as head of asset management for pensions. Jasper succeeds Peter Willner, who was previously head of asset management for Siemens’s pension funds.
Jasper joined Siemens in 2016, starting as a senior manager for alternative investments, and then as senior manager for the asset management business. Prior to joining Siemens, he worked for the Bayerische Versorgungskammer (BVK), Germany’s largest pension fund, and the single-family office Cara Investment. He is also a senior adviser at Polaris Investment.
Faros – The German pension consultancy firm has appointed Ralf Bräuer as senior adviser. In his new role, he will be responsible for expanding business relationships, together with the founder of FAROS, Uwe Rieken.
Bräuer served at Helaba Invest, where he most recently headed the relationship management and marketing and corporate communications departments, and at the Austrian asset manager IQAM Invest, where he built up the firm’s institutional business in Germany.
Before joining IQAM, Bräuer worked for many years at Universal-Investment as head of institutional investors, among other positions, and at Deka as a portfolio manager for Spezialfonds mandates.
