Van Lanschot Kempen Investment Management UK – Bob Campion will join the firm as client director. In this role, he will work closely with institutional clients, including pension funds, to develop and execute long-term investment strategies aimed at meeting their financial objectives.
Campion’s core responsibilities will encompass providing strategic advice and counsel on a range of services, from asset allocation and portfolio construction to performance monitoring and building long-term de-risking plans.
Campion previously led the fiduciary management services at Charles Stanley and will join Van Lanschot Kempen at the end of October. He brings 12 years of experience in fiduciary management, managing and governing pension fund investment portfolios, and an additional 11 years in the pensions industry, including as a trustee.
Campion brings a wealth of experience, not least guiding three pension schemes to buyout in the last four years.
TPT Investment Management (TPTIM) – The firm, which is part of the TPT Retirement Solutions group, has appointed Nicholas Clapp as its new managing director. The firm has also hired Chris Dickins as client director and Valia Tzoka as operations and reporting manager.
Clapp joined TPT Retirement Solutions as commercial director in May 2023, and is responsible for the commercial development across both defined benefit (DB) and defined contribution (DC) offerings; he will continue in this role alongside heading up the TPTIM function.
Before this, Clapp served as head of business development at Kempen Capital Management, leading the fiduciary management sales team. He has also held senior business development and consultancy roles working with corporates at Hymans Robertson and what is now XPS.
Clapp replaces Cliff Speed, who has left the business. Peter Smith and Nic Ashworth continue in their roles leading on investment and operations, respectively.
In his role as client director for TPTIM, Dickins will be responsible for leading client relationships with trustees who use the firm’s DB Connect and fiduciary management services. Prior to joining, He served as a director at Van Lanschot Kempen Investment Management, where he was responsible for leading and managing client relationships within its fiduciary management business.
Tzoka will be responsible for TPTIM’s client reporting and will incorporate new data sets into the reporting process to help support client engagement and decision-making. She joins from Millennium Global Investments, where she served as a client reporting manager for 16 years.
Caisse nationale d’assurance vieillesse des professions libérales (CNAVPL) – The board of directors of the National Old-Age Insurance Fund for the Liberal Professions has elected Philippe Berthelot as president.
Additionally, Stéphane Beulay, president of Carpimko, the Autonomous Pension and Provident Fund for Nurses, Physiotherapists, Podiatrists, Speech Therapists and Orthoptists, and Eric Quiever, president of the Autonomous Pension Fund for Dental Surgeons and Midwives, were elected to the positions of first and second vice presidents, respectively.
André Montocchio, president of CAVAMAC, the Old-Age Allowance Fund for General Agents and Non-Salaried Insurance and Capitalization Agents, was elected secretary general.
The position of treasurer is held by Frédéric Rogier, president of CAVEC, the old-age insurance fund for chartered accountants and auditors, and the position of deputy secretary general is held by Pascal Thuet, president of CAVOM, the old-age insurance fund for ministerial officers, public officers and judicial companies.
Fondazione Enasarco – The Italian pension fund for sales representatives has appointed Umberto Mirizzi as the new president.
The fund’s board of directors revoked Alfonso Mei’s presidency with a vote of no confidence in a meeting held on 10 October. As a result, deputy vice president Giuseppe Capanna was named as president temporarily until the appointment of the new president.
Mirizzi has been a member of the fund’s board of directors for 10 years. He is still the honorary president of Usarci, a trade union for commercial agents in Italy.
People’s Partnership – The workplace pension provider has appointed Victoria Jonson as director of public affairs to further strengthen the organisation’s voice and profile with policymakers and the wider business community.
Jonson will join in November from the British Business Bank, where she is currently the senior director of public affairs, managing the bank’s relationships with ministers, parliament, trade bodies and think tanks. She has previously worked for several trade bodies including R3, the Insolvency and Restructuring Trade Body, where she won a number of industry awards.
Brightwell – The comprehensive service provider for DB pension schemes, has appointed Simon Liste as chief information and technology officer (CITO). In this role, he will be responsible for investment systems, administration systems, IT infrastructure and markets support for Brightwell.
Liste joins from the Pension Protection Fund (PPF) where he held a similar role. He has more than 25 years of experience in the tech industry, with the last six being served within the pensions industry.
Fondo Perseo Sirio – The Italian pension fund for the employees in public administration has appointed Riccardo Realfonzo as the new president for 2024-2027.
Realfonzo was the president of Cometa, the pension fund for the metal industry, from 2021 to 2024. He is currently the coordinator of the technical committee of the pension funds association Assofondipensione, and is a member of the board of directors of Fondapi, the pension fund for small and medium companies.
Fondo Perseo Sirio has also appointed a new board of directors consisting of eight members that will remain in office for 2024-2027. With the latest appointments, Perseo Sirio has concluded the process of renewing its governance structure.
Spectrum Asset Management – Principal Asset Management’s preferred and capital securities investment manager has appointed Gemma Tomas as managing director for international business development.
In her role, Tomas will work closely with Isabel Faragalli, managing director of investments, to accelerate distribution and sales in international markets. This includes collaborating with the wider sales teams at Principal AM and leveraging fund platform capabilities.
Tomas brings 30 years of experience to the role, having previously worked at Credit Suisse for 26 years in various investment banking and wealth management leadership roles, with extensive exposure to European, Middle East, and Latin American markets. Most recently, Tomas was head of external asset managers for Latin America, leading teams in Zurich and Sao Paulo.
