Russell Investments – The firm has hired Ayesha Parra as global head of alternatives to lead the overall business strategy for Russell Investments’ alternatives platform globally.

Parra, who joined in July, leads a team of alternatives specialists who incorporate private markets into the firm’s solutions business to deliver more efficient diversification, as well as expand the firm’s alternative capabilities. Based in New York, Parra also serves as a member of the firm’s operating committee.

Prior to joining Russell Investments, Parra spent 19 years at Goldman Sachs Asset Management (GSAM), where she held several leadership positions in various business units, most recently playing a key role in the general partner stakes team in the external investing group.

State Street CorporationJoerg Ambrosius, executive vice-president and chief commercial officer at the firm, has been appointed president of investment services, State Street’s largest business.

Ambrosius brings more than 30 years of financial services experience, with a successful track record of leading client management, sales and revenue growth, focusing on the needs of asset managers and institutional investors. He assumed an expanded role in October 2023 with overall leadership of investment services’ client-facing activities and full responsibility for its international organisation.

“The appointment of a leader solely focused on the investment services business will further strengthen execution, streamline decision-making, and provide clients with more effective delivery of products, services, and solutions,” State Street said.

Mostapha Tahiri will remain as State Street’s chief operating officer. Appointed in October 2023, Tahiri has had immediate impact in positioning State Street’s enterprise global operations and technology organisations to deliver greater value for its clients and its business, as well as driving ongoing service quality and productivity improvements through transformation initiatives across the firm.

Ambrosius and Tahiri will continue to report directly to Ron O’Hanley, chair and chief executive officer of State Street.


IFRS Foundation TrusteesZach Gast and Bruce Mackenzie have been reappointed to serve second terms as members of the International Accounting Standards Board (IASB).

The Trustees are responsible for the governance of the Foundation and oversight of its standard-setting boards – the IASB and the International Sustainability Standards Board (ISSB).

Gast’s second term will end 31 July 2028 and Mackenzie’s second term will end 30 September 2030.

The Trustees have also extended Nick Anderson’s second term by two years to the maximum of five years, ending 31 August 2027.

The Trustees reappointed the members after a thorough process designed to ensure that the IASB comprises people who will be strong contributors to the IASB’s work plan and who come from varied professional and geographical backgrounds.
