Partners Capital, Impax, Broadstone
Fondtorgsnämnden (FTN) – Jan Westring has been appointed as the newest member of the Swedish Fund Selection Agency’s (FTN) investment due diligence unit. He joins from the Swedish Pension Agency, where he was a senior portfolio manager of its traditional insurance and fixed-income portfolios.
Westring also previously worked for Nordea and ABB Financial Services as a senior portfolio manager, proprietary trader and financial analyst. The Swedish Fund Selection Agency said sustainable investments were on Westring’s agenda, as a member of EFFAS (European Federation of Financial Analysts Societies) Commission on ESG and the Swedish Society of Financial Analysts’ sustainability group.
Broadstone – The investments consultancy has appointed Martin Speakes to join its employee benefits consulting division as a senior defined contribution (DC) consultant.
As Broadstone continues to grow and expand its DC consulting team, Speakes will play a key management role while advising several of its largest clients.
Speakes brings more than 25 years of experience in the workplace savings and pensions industry, across relationship management, consulting and business development. He joins from WEALTH at Work where he was national business development manager. He has also held previous senior roles at Fidelity International, Prudential and Guardian Financial Services.
Impax Environmental Markets – Guy Walker has been appointed as an independent non-executive director of the company with effect from 17 May. Walker is currently senior independent director at JPMorgan European Growth & Income, having joined the firm in 2021.
He was previously managing director UK and European equities at UBS Asset Management. Before that, he held various roles at Schroder Investment Management, including as non-executive director of Schroder Pension Trustee Limited, global head of ESG investment and head of equity research. Walker helped set up the Investor Forum in 2014 and still acts as a senior adviser to it.
Partners Capital – The firm has appointed Euan Finlay as head of EMEA. He also joins the Partners Capital executive committee.
In his EMEA role, Finlay will oversee the business across the EMEA region, including the mentorship of the senior investment team and the execution of strategic growth initiatives. He will continue to be a member of the global investment committee.
Finlay joined Partners Capital from Goldman Sachs in 2009, where he worked in its investment banking division focused on mergers and acquisitions.
Finlay succeeds John Collis, who will be retiring after 19 years with the firm. Will Jagger will assume responsibility for the management of the London office, the largest of Partners Capital’s seven offices, with more than 160 employees.
Jagger joined Partners Capital in 2010, having previously worked at L.E.K Consulting in London and Shanghai. He leads the implementation of the Partners Capital investment programme across bespoke client portfolios, while managing the portfolios of many of the firm’s largest clients in Europe.
