UK - Northamptonshire County Council has hired Mercer an investment consultant to support its running of the pension fund, just weeks after appointing a new actuary to replace them.
Information available via Pensions Funds Online indicates the £1.1bn (€1.37bn) pension fund had been working with an individual investment adviser but has now signed to work with the larger firm to handle a whole host of services and information related to investment consulting.
Mercer was recently replaced as Northants' actuary by Hymans Robertson. (See earlier IPE story: Hymans replaces Mercer as Northants actuary)
Elsewhere, Tameside Metropolitan Borough Council has hired Sanderson Weatherall to look after a property management contract for its north of England portfolio.
