EUROPE – Northern Trust Global Investments has hired State Street Global Advisors’ Heico de Boer as a sales director for Continental Europe.
NTGI said de Boer would market to institutional investors, primarily in the Netherlands. He would also support the bank’s German joint venture with the Landesbank Hessen-Thuringen.
De Boer, formerly a director of marketing at SSGA, will report to Gordon Hogarth, head of European business development.
Hogarth said: “As a native Dutch speaker with strong contacts and a top-class reputation in the market, he will be a great asset to our team and well placed to tap into new business opportunities on the Continent.”
Meanwhile, State Street said it has hired Charles Cohen to its pension fund sales team in the UK.
He was formerly a senior consultant at Thomas Murray and will report to Alasdair Reid, State Street’s head of sales for investor services in the UK.
“Charles’ extensive knowledge of our competitive landscape, coupled with his experience working with some of the most sophisticated pension fund clients in the industry, makes him a valuable addition to our sales team,” said Reid.
“As the U.K. continues to advance its position as the largest pension fund market in Europe, State Street has a tremendous opportunity to expand on our industry leadership as we enhance our capabilities to service our growing list of clients.”
