GLOBAL - Northern Trust says it has hired Wilson Leech from State Street to be head of international strategic planning, a new role.
Leech is the second hire Northern has made from its Boston-based rival this month. Last week Northern Trust Global Investments tapped Street Global Advisors’ Heico de Boer for a European sales role.
Chicago-based Northern said Leech would be based in London and report to international head Stephen Potter. Leech will focus on asset servicing, asset management and wealth management.
It added: “This will include market entry strategies, acquisition analysis and implementation, back-office outsourcing structures and their delivery, and the expansion of Northern Trust’s wealth management capabilities outside North America.”
“Wilson’s strong financial and business expertise, combined with extensive industry experience and a proven track record, makes him a very timely addition,” Potter said.
Northern Trust said Leech was most recently head of wealth management services at State Street. Previously, he was chief financial officer for RBS Trust Bank.
