UK – Northern Trust Global Investments has hired Barry Sagraves from Martin Currie to head its European investment business.
Sagraves will be based in London with the title chief executive, Northern Trust Global Investments' European investment business. The Chicago-based bank said he would be responsible for the business management of all of NTGI's investment activities in London.
That includes multi-manager, quantitative, active equity, active fixed income, securities lending, transition management and cash management.
He will report to Steve Potter, London-based head of Northern Trust's international businesses, and Chicago-based Stephen Timbers, vice chairman of Northern Trust Corp.
Potter said: "Barry brings significant marketing, strategic planning and financial expertise to Northern Trust's growing European asset management business. His unique background and asset management experience in both the US and Europe position him well to make an immediate contribution."
NTGI currently manages almost 8.5 billion dollars in assets from the London office.
