UK - Asset manager Northern Trust Global Investments has appointed a product manager from Threadneedle Investments to expand its quantitative management solutions.

It said that Elinor Winkle was previously investment communications manager for the European markets at Threadneedle. She joins a six-strong team focusing on quantitative management.

Describing Winkle as a highly skilled and experienced professional, Richard Bartholomew, NTGI’s European head of product management, said: “Expanding our quantitative management solutions range in the UK and Europe and growing out continental client base is a key focus for NTGI in the coming year.”

“Elinor’s appointment is an indication of our ongoing commitment to developing effective solutions for clients and winning new mandates in this area of the European market place,” he said.

NTGI is part of Chicago-based Northern Trust and carries out Northern’s non-US based asset management activities. It has around 10.5 billion dollars (8.7 billion euros) in assets under management.
