UK- Northern Trust Global Investment Europe has appointed Andrew Edgington as director of product management and development. In the new role he will work with chief operating officer Nick Ring and product manager Chris Turpin in developing new investment products as well as overseeing the existing product range.

He will be primarily responsible for active investment products including the European equity and fixed income ranges.

Edgington joins from Gartmore where he was product director responsible for offshore and hedge funds. Previous posts include marketing positions at Aetna Investment Management, Invesco and London Life Assurance.

“With the increasing demand for our investment services in the UK and European marketplace we felt that now was the right time to expand the team,” says managing director Steve Potter.

The European branch of Northern Trust Global Investments (NTGIE) remains a small part in the overall jigsaw. Of £232bn in assets managed world-wide, NTGIE accounts for £1.25bn.
