NETHERLANDS – Former Commerzbank executive Gerard-Jan van Berckel has been appointed executive director for institutional clients at Dutch bank Oyens & Van Eeghen.
Van Berckel, 35, started in his new position last week.
He left the German-based financial services giant after one year, where he was responsible for delivering products to pension funds and insurance companies.
Amsterdam-based van Berckel is part of six to 10 member team.
“What attracted me most about Oyens & Van Eeghen is that they have the best products in the market. No-one else has such in-depth and professional knowledge and overviews about their products,” he told IPE.
“There are also very well-known companies that form part of our target group, and with which I will be working.
“I hope to deliver as many products to potential clients as possible. But one expects to do this when you are in any commercial role,” he added.
The group’s clients include pension funds, asset managers, insurers, family offices and corporates.
