GERMANY – The German arm of Pictet Asset Management has recruited Tanja Traupe from rival Invesco for the new position of director, institutional investors.

Pictet said Traupe, 41, would join on July 1 from Invesco Asset Management Deutschland. At Invesco, where she worked since January 2000, Traupe was in charge of building and running the asset manager’s middle office.

Pictet said Traupe ’s new role would be to strengthen its business with German institutional clients, including pension funds. She reports to Michael Montag, who is head of Pictet in Germany.

“In Tanja Traupe, we’re pleased to have acquired a first-rate expert for our institutional business. She also possesses a remarkable network, which will be very helpful in further developing that business,” Montag said of the appointment.

Traupe noted that the fact that Pictet was still a family-run business was a factor in her decision to join. “Ethics are taken very seriously at family-run firms and that reflects positively on client relationships,” she said.

Pictet AM, a unit of the Swiss private bank Pictet, runs €65bn in assets for institutional clients. In Germany, the house has around €1bn under management, 25% of which come
from pension funds.
