EUROPE – RBC Global Services, the securities services arm of the Royal Bank of Canada, has made two European sales appointments.

Luc Leleux joins as Luxembourg-based director of business development, focusing on continental European clients. He used to work for State Street Bank, J P Morgan and Banque Privée Edmond de Rothschild.

Emma Crabtree has been promoted to director of business development, and will focus on the UK. She was formerly director of client solutions. That role will be taken by Rob Messenger, formerly of Invesco.

“The expansion demonstrates RBC's commitment to providing superior client service worldwide through a consultative, solutions-based approach,” RBC said in a statement.

"We are delighted to have Luc and Rob join the team and to have Emma take on this senior role," said Tony Johnson, global sales head at the unit.

Meanwhile RBC has launched a new investment analytics service in Europe, RBC Benchmark. Blair McPherson will head the service in the region.

“RBC Benchmark frees asset managers to focus time, effort and capital on their core business," said Fred Francis, vice president of securities finance and global products.

RBC Global Services has 1.4 trillion Canadian dollars (900 billion euros) in client assets under administration.
