NETHERLANDS – Marnix Vriezen, chief investment officer of Robeco for just over a year, has left the company amid a management shakeout by new chief executive George Möller.
“He’s left the company,” said a Robeco spokesman. He explained that, under a new management structure announced last week, Vriezen’s role as CIO and head of Robeco Asset Management, or RAM, was to be split. “That’s the reason Marnix left the company.” He was not able to say where Vriezen will go.
“The CIO has to be appointed,” the spokesman added. Last week Robeco named Niek Molenaar as head of RAM as part of a revamp that also left marketing head Hans van der Koogh ousted from the firm’s top level.
Vriezen, 36, took over the CIO role from Jaap van Duijn on September 1 2003. Robeco is the asset management arm of Dutch bank Rabobank.
