NETHERLANDS - Ronald Waals is joining Robeco Asset Management's institutional sales team from 1 March, the Dutch firm has announced today.
Waals currently is director for F&C Netherlands' institutional business, where he shares responsibility for several mergers between Achmea Asset Management, commercial insurer PVF and F&C, according to the Robeco release.
Reinoud van den Broek, Robeco's head of institutional sales, said Waals' appointment is a step "to enlarge our presence in the institutional market".
Robeco is looking for further "enforcement" in several areas, a spokesman said. He declined to be more specific.
Elsewhere, EDHEC Business School has appointed Joëlle Miffre as associate professor of finance.
She will teach fixed income securities and derivatives, and also participate actively in the work of the EDHEC Risk and Asset Management Research Centre.

Miffre's research focuses on portfolio management, with special emphasis on hedge funds, commodities, real estate, performance evaluation, non-normality risks, ETFs and momentum strategies.
