UK- The UK Society of Investment Professionals has announced the appointment of John Rogers as a replacement to retiring chief executive Sir David Dobson.
Rogers joins the society at the beginning of next month and will be responsible for the administration and promotion of the society. He will focus on raising the UKSIP’s profile and increasing its influence in investment issues.
Rogers made a name for himself while at his previous employer, the National Association of Pension Funds. During his ten years at the association, he devised numerous policy initiatives including the Newbold inquiry into proxy voting, and the NAPF’s current programme for non-executive directors.
In addition, he developed the association’s corporate governance and corporate social responsibility initiatives.
Endorsing his successor, Dobson described him as a “well known and highly regarded figure throughout the investment industry who will be a huge asset to the UKSIP. All our members will greatly benefit from his industry knowledge and experience.”
The UKSIP has over 4,000 members and is the largest international member society of AIMR, the Association for Investment Practitioners and academics.
