UK- Royal London Asset Management has appointed Susan Spiller head of defined contribution sales as part of a move by the group to increase the volume of assets under management from defined contribution clients.
Spiller’s primary objective is to develop a retirement product with deputy chief executive David Hughson but she will also oversee the daily operation of the DC team and build on existing relationships with consultants.
She joins from Charles Schwab in San Francisco where she was vice president of marketing individual retirement products. Prior to that she was responsible for the development and management of DC retirement plan products at Fidelity in Boston.
Says Hughson on the appointment: “defined contribution plans have been established for many years in the US and therefore have evolved ahead of those in the UK. We are delighted to have her on board.”
