Frank Russell has selected PIMCO Global Advisors to manage a $600m portion of its global bond fund range within the group’s multi-manager investment structure, boosting the $3bn in fixed income assets the group already runs for Russell’s multi-manager pool.
PIMCO joins two other managers on Russell’s global bond fund roster and James Duberly, portfolio manager at Russell in London, comments: “ The addition of this highly regarded manager to Russell’s global bond fund provides our investors with very skilled talent in managing global bonds. We believe strongly that PIMCO has the skills that will benefit our portfolios in the rapidly changing arena of the world’s bond markets.”
He added that PIMCO is considered especially strong in its knowledge and coverage of US fixed income, particularly the US mortgage sector.
PIMCO’s performance will be measured against the Salomon Smith Barney WGBI
