EUROPE – Investment information provider Russell/Mellon CAPS has hired David Harris from Britannic Asset Management to handle clients in Europe and the UK.

The group said Harris would be head of client relations and be based in London, a new role. He will report to chief executive Mick Brant and “be responsible for managing client relationships across all market sectors, in the UK and mainland Europe”.

Brant said the hire “underlines our commitment to providing a first class service to our existing clients and developing new relationships across Europe”.

A spokeswoman said the firm is also looking for a sales manager to work alongside Harris.

Harris was most recently head of pooled funds at Britannic Asset Management. Before that he was a principal at Aon Consulting.

Earlier this month CAPS reported that pooled balanced pension funds in the UK made a median return of 11.2% in the second quarter – the best quarterly returns for almost four years.
