SWEDEN - Fredrik Boheman has been named as Harry Klagsbrun's successor as head of SEB Asset Management.
Klagsbrun had announced in mid-May that he would leave the company to join private equity firm EQT Partners as a senior partner in October.
Boheman is currently executive vice president and head of SEB Germany. That role will be taken by Peter Buschbeck, head of German Retail, as of January 1 next year.
Boheman will have a dual role for a while.
"Fredrik Boheman has successfully aligned the German operations, which are now on the right track," said SEB's president and chief executive Annika Falkengren.
"I am convinced that Fredrik, with his solid customer focus, strong business commitment and excellent leadership qualities, will continue to further develop SEB's leading position within asset management."
Buschbeck's appointment has to be approved by SEB's board.
At the end of June SEB's assets under management totalled SEK1.1tn (€120bn). The group operates in about 20 countries around the world and as a staff of about 20,000.
