IRELAND – State Street has hired Goldman Sachs Asset Management’s Gavin Nangle to be head of business development in Ireland.

The Boston-based group said he would report to William Slattery, head of its investor services business in Ireland.

“In this new role, Nangle will be responsible for furthering State Street’s industry leadership and business in Ireland and expanding on its growing market share,” it said.

State Street said Nangle joins from Goldman Sachs Asset Management where he was head of Offshore Fund Services based in London. He has a degree from University College Dublin and is an associate member of Ireland’s Institute of Chartered Accountants.

State Street has been in Ireland since 1990 and has 450 staff there. “Gavin’s high-quality international experience, profile and reputation in the offshore funds market will be a key asset to our continued advancement here,” Slattery said.
