UK – Scottish Widows Investment Partnership has expanded its UK equity fund management team with the addition of two senior members.
Joel Marks has been appointed as investment director for UK equities institutional, and David Urch has been appointed as investment director for UK equities retail.
Marks joins SWIP from Insight Investment Management where he worked as a UK fund manager responsible for running a number of key pension funds. He joins on November 17.
Urch joins on December 1 from Martin Currie, where he was responsible for growing their UK specialist equity business.
The additions take the UK team headcount to 13. Both will report to Robert Waugh, head of UK equities. Waugh joined SWIP in August from Edinburgh Fund Managers, as did Peter Cockburn, also investment director for UK equities retail.
The UK equity team will manage around 22.6 billion pounds. In total, SWIP has assets under management of 73 billion pounds.
