NORDIC – Scottish Widows Investment Partnership says it has hired Martin Ortving from Baring Asset Management to head its Nordic business.
“This appointment reflects the success SWIP has had in the Nordic region, working with marketing partners Intervalor,” said SWIP, which is part of Lloyds TSB group.
SWIP said the 41-year-old Dane joins on January 6 and will report to SWIP’s institutional head Chris Walker.
Baring AM press officer Jill Hendry said Ortving was head of Nordic sales and that the firm is currently recruiting a replacement.
SWIP added that business development director Alex Mackenzie-Smith would still be involved in the Nordic business – though his responsibilities will shift to opening up new European markets.
Earlier this month the group named Nigel Bolton as head of European equities.
SWIP has around 73 billion pounds in funds under management. In October SWIP said that Sweden’s Skandinaviska Enskilda Banken had selected its Global Socially Responsible Investing Fund for its range of externally managed funds.
