GLOBAL - Andrew Marks started this week in his new role as UK managing director for US-based investment management firm Artisan Partners.
Marks, who is based in London, joins Artisan after 10 years at T Rowe Price Group, where he was most recently director and head of client relationships for the UK and Ireland.
At Artisan, he will be responsible for business development and client services outside the US. He will work with the global equity portfolio team managed by Barry Dargan.
Marks will also support Artisan’s expansion in the EMEA region.
He told IPE: “First, the firm’s approach to investing was globalized. We gave our investment talent the opportunity to seek out alpha anywhere in the world and created a range of active unconstrained global equity portfolios.
“Now, having built track records in those strategies, and in response to mounting client/consultant demand from outside North America, we have earned the credibility to globalize our distribution and servicing effort.
“The creation of this new role is the natural next step for Artisan Partners.”
In his previous role at T Rowe Price, Marks was in charge of the company’s institutional direct and financial intermediary relationships.
He joined T Rowe Price in 2001 as business development executive before being promoted to director and head of Latin America, Southern Europe and Switzerland.
Artisan, which has $64bn (€44bn) in assets under management, opened its first overseas office in London in July 2010.
