NETHERLANDS - Lex Ravensbergen, the former head of equities at Aegon Nederland’s TKP Investments, has been appointed as head of financial markets at Doctors Pension Funds Services.

“Doctors Pension Funds Services (DPFS) has appointed Mr Lex Ravensbergen as head of financial markets,” the DPFS said.

DPFS manages the pension funds of the Dutch General Practitioners and the Dutch Medical Specialists, with assets under management of €12bn.

It said Ravensbergen will be responsible for DPFS’ investments in equities, fixed income and alternatives. He will start on April1. He joins his former TKP colleague Jan-Willem Baan, who took over as director of investments on January 1.

Aegon said Ravensbergen would be succeeded by Coos Luning, who has been on TKP’s equity team since 1998.

Elsewhere, Mercer Human Resource Consulting in Amstelveen has named Albert Smolenaers as head of client development. He joins from Loyalis.
