UK – Asset manager T. Rowe Price says it has hired Philip Garcia, head of UK investment consulting at Towers Perrin.

"T. Rowe Price Global Investment Services Ltd. is pleased to announce the appointment of Philip Garcia, who joins the company as a vice president of the client servicing team," the firm said in a release.

It added: "Philip will primarily be focusing on large institutional pension funds in Europe."

"We are delighted Philip has joined T. Rowe Price," said Christian Elsmark, head of investment services. "The company continually strives to offer the highest level of client servicing and Philip will be putting more than 20 years of experience at the service of our clients in Europe."

T. Rowe added that Garcia, who is a qualified actuary and holds an MA in Mathematics from Cambridge University, has more than 20 years of experience advising pension funds.

In October the firm revamped its London-based non-US equity research team with the appointment of former Goldman Sachs research executive Kamran Baig.

And in September it recruited Silva El-Hayek, head of the Gävleborg County Council pension fund, for its new office in Stockholm.
