UK – The National Association of Pension Funds has appointed Terry Faulkner to replace Peter Thompson as its chairman, effective from the NAPF’s annual conference in May 2003.
Faulkner is currently chairman of the NAPF Benefits Council and is also a director of the NAPF and a trustee of the NAPF pension scheme.
Says Faulkner: “I am delighted to be taking on this role at such a critical time in the development of UK pension provision. The NAPF will play a central role in the ongoing debate over pensions.”
Faulkner is group pensions and benefits manager of Rexam PLC, with responsibility for its benefits globally. Previously, he was responsible for the UK pension plan of Nortel Networks and its European benefits, and was group pensions manager at both Johnson Matthey and Unigate (now Uniq). He also held various pension roles at BOC, New Towns Pension Fund and Vauxhall Motors.
He is a fellow of the Pensions Management Institute and a former adviser at the Office for the pensions advisory services (OPAS).
