AIMA – the London based Alternative Investment Management Association has elected Hans-Willem van Tuyll as its new chairman, replacing Sohail Jaffer who has held the post for the last four years.
Van Tuyll, vice president of Cargill Investor Services, has served as AIMA’s deputy chairman for the last two years. He will be replaced by Dermot Butler, chairman of Custom House Administration and Corporate Services Limited.
Jaffer, applauded by the association for his part in the development of AIMA, will remain actively involved with the body in a dual role as representative for the Benelux region and chairman of the Middle East chapter.
Other council members and their respective regional briefs are: Bill Dykes, a partner at Risk & Portfolio Management – Scandinavia, Bernard Dennery, director of CRP2AM – France, Urs Spörri, principal of RMF Investment Group – Switzerland, Christopher Fawcett, director of Fauchier Partners – UK and Luigi Zoja, managing director of HFR Europe – Italy.
The association’s previous chairmen, Ian Morley of Dawnia Day Olympia and Jean-François Conil Lacoste of Euronext will remain as honorary council members.
Fortis Fund Services has also joined the list of sponsoring members of AIMA, which includes Cargill Investor Services, Citibank Alternative Investment Strategies, Euronext and Hedgeworld.
