SWEDEN – Pensions consultancy Watson Wyatt has appointed Elisabeth Wass as head of employee benefits consulting services in its Stockholm office.
The appointment comes as Swedish companies are taking a more active interest in their employee benefit plans operating both in Sweden and by their subsidiaries in other countries.
Watson Wyatt attributes the increase in interest to the fall in stock markets, moves to defined contribution, changes in accounting standards and increased governance requirements.
Wass will work with Crispin Lace, head of investment consulting services in the Stockholm office. On global benefits and compensation issues, their team will be supported by Eric Steedman and Frederico Jorge, two of Watson Wyatt’s international consultants in Europe.
The team has already advised many of Sweden’s largest companies in the last two years, including nine of the top 15 Swedish companies, says Watson Wyatt.
Wass joins Watson Wyatt from the pensions advisory firm Savecap AB.
