GLOBAL - Roger Urwin is stepping down as global head of investment consulting at Watson Wyatt to take a new role focused on wider investment development and research.
A statement just issued by the firm said Carl Hess (pictured, right), director of the investment consulting practice in the Americas, is stepping up to take the global head position from July 1, as Urwin will enter a new role looking at the firm's global development and delivery of investment research.
Both individuals have been with the consultancy for some years now, as Urwin has been in the global head of investment consulting position for 13 years and joined Watson Wyatt in 1989 while Hess, who is also a chartered enterprise risk analyst, has been with the company for 20 years.
"I have worked with Carl for 13 years and have every confidence in handing over the global business role to him," said Urwin.
"While I have thoroughly enjoyed the challenges and successes of leading the practice, I am looking forward to a new focus on developing our thinking and research. Our clients have more and greater challenges than ever and my view is that I can help them most by committing 100% of my time to the research and refinement of new investment ideas to bolster the content of our work," he added.
