GLOBAL - BNY Mellon AM, Avenir, Financial Supervisory Authority, Government Actuary's Department, Gartmore, Skagen, Standard Life Investments, Aviva Investors, Profund, SNS Reaal, Insparo, UBS

BNY Mellon Asset Management - Bruce Murphy has been appointed as managing director for the firm's Australian division, replacing James Gruver who has relocated to the US. Murphy, who is currently executive director and head of distribution at Macquarie Funds Group, will report to David Jiang, CEO of BNY Mellon Asset Management Asia Pacific.

Avenir Global Investment Advisors - The Swiss sustainable development investment adviser has appointed Ged Davis to its advisory board. He is currently co-president of global energy aAssessment at the International Institute for Applied Systems Analysis as well as acting as an adviser to "a number" of international institutions on global business, energy and environmental matters.

Financial Supervisory Authority (FSA) - Malin Björkmo will become the new head of insurance and investment management at the Swedish FSA from 12 October. She has held roles in in-house consultancy work but also has a background at the Finance Ministry, Storebrand and Skandia Liv.

Government Actuary's Department (GAD) - George Russell has been appointed as deputy government actuary, succeeding Andrew Johnston who has retired. Eddy Battersby is now technical director and Bill Rayner has been appointed client relations and development director. Both have joined the GAD management board. Sandra Bell, Adrian Hale and Sue Vivian have also been appointed as chief actuaries.

Gartmore - Asim Rahman and Christian Billinger are leaving GAM to become Gartmore investment analysts in 2010 while colleague Eleanor Cameron will join them as manager  of dealing and operations. They will report to John Bennett, Gartmore's incoming senior portfolio manager for European equities, who also joins in January 2010. Julia Campbell is also arriving on 5 October as senior credit analyst, reporting to John Anderson, head of credit.

Skagen - Cathrine Gether has been hired as portfolio manager within the team that manages the emerging markets fund Skagen Kon-Tiki. She was previously portfolio manager at Millennium Capital Partners in London.

Standard Life Investments - Christopher Heckscher has been made senior vice president for US credit, based in SLI's Boston office. He was previously an analyst at Wellington Management working on US investment grade and high-yield debt.

Aviva Investors - Simon Blundell will arrive on 12 October to become senior portfolio manager in credit, reporting to Mark Wauton, head of credit. Most recently he was head of investment grade credit at Fortis Investments/ABN Amro Asset Management.

Profund - Andrew Marson will head up the administration consulting business, following a transfer from JLT's administration solutions business.

SNS Reaal - Marius Menkveld is stepping down as chief executive of SNS Property Finance as of tomorrow (1 October 2009) in order to pursue his career outside SNS REAAL and will resign from the statutory board of directors of SNS Bank NV and the management committee of SNS REAAL. Coen van der Bijl, an associate partner at Boer & Croon Executive Managers, will become interim manager.
 
Insparo Asset Management - Mahan Namin has joined the investment and research team as assistant portfolio manager. He was previously an FX options trader at JP Morgan.

UBS - Sergio Marchionne, senior independent director of the board of directors at UBS, and Peter Voser will not stand for re-election to the board of at the general assembly of 14 April 2010. Information on potential candidates will be provided at a later date.
