BNP Paribas Investment Partners - Guy Davies has been hired by BNP Paribas Investment Partners in the newly created role of director of equities, for the institutional business line. Davies was previously head of research at FundQuest Advisor. In his new job, he will take responsibility for the institutional equity teams, and report to David Kiddie, chief executive of the institutional business line. Davies will be based in London.
Russell Investments - Matthew Brown has been appointed head of institutional marketing at Russell Investments in London, and started his new job two weeks ago. He was previously marketing director at Newton Investment Management, having worked at BNP Paribas Investment Partners before that.
Actuarial Association of Europe (AAE) - Philip Shier has been appointed vice-chairperson of the Actuarial Association of Europe. Shier is a past president of the Society of Actuaries in Ireland.
UBS - Edward Brown is joining UBS’s global real estate business (GRE) in London, having been appointed asset manager for the UBS Triton Property Fund. He will report to Howard Meaney, portfolio manager for UBS Triton and head of global real estate. Before joining UBS, Brown was a deputy fund manager at CBRE Global Investors.
Lazard Asset Management - Nick Horton has returned to Lazard Asset Management as institutional sales and marketing manager, taking responsibility for the Nordic and Benelux regions and working out of the London office. Horton comes to Lazard from Dalton Strategic Partnership, where he was head of institutional for three years, but originally joined Lazard in 2009.
Capital Group - Katja Wiechers has been hired by Capital Group as a business development manager in Zurich. In her new job, she will focus on financial institutions in the Swiss and Austrian markets. Wiechers previously worked as business development manager at Carmignac, having held positions at BNP Paribas Investment Partners and Fortis Investments before that.
