EDHEC-Risk Institute – Noël Amenc has announced his resignation as director of EDHEC-Risk Institute. He will be replaced by Lionel Martellini, the current scientific director of the institute. Amenc will now focus on his role as chief executive at ERI Scientific Beta, the institute’s initiative to put its research on smart beta into practice.
PensionsEurope – Janwillem Bouma has joined the board at PensionsEurope, filling the void left by the departure of Benne van Popta. Bouma, director of the pensions office at Shell Netherlands, will join chair Joanne Segars of the UK’s National Association of Pension Funds and vice-chair Pierre Bollon, director general of France’s AFG, on the organisation’s board.
Russell Investments – Michele Caronti has been appointed to lead the institutional business in Italy. He joins from London Capital Advisors, an advisory business for institutional investors he founded in 2010. Before then, he held a variety of senior roles, predominantly in derivative and structured product distribution. He was head of derivatives and structured products at Unicredit Group and head of equity-fund linked structures/derivatives at Merrill Lynch.
Newton Investment Management – Catherine Booth has been appointed to the newly created role of UK institutional business-development manager. She joins from Barings, where she was a member of the institutional sales. Before then, she held roles at Heptagon Capital and Thomson Financial (now Thomson Reuters).
Amundi – Laurent Ducoin has been appointed head of European equities. He joins from Carmignac, where he was head of the European equity team and a fund manager. Before then, he was a fund manager at BlackRock in London. He has also previously worked at CM-CIC Securities and Oddo Pinatton Equities.
HSBC Global Asset Management – Joseph Molloy has been appointed head of passive equity. He joined in early March from Legal & General Investment Management, where he was global head of index equities. Before then, he worked at Northern Trust Global Advisors and State Street Global Advisors.
Pictet Asset Management – Emrah Kagitcibasi has been appointed as a senior investment manager in the London-based emerging market debt team. He joins from Rohatyn Group, where he was a portfolio manager specialising in EMEA hard and local currency. Before then, he worked at Bluecrest Capital.
