Aviva Investors – Inés de Dinechin has been named chief executive of Aviva Investors’ French business, succeeding Jean-François Boulier after seven years in the role. De Dinechin has several decades’ experience in the financial industry, largely within Société Générale Group. The French banking group owns Lyxor Asset Management, where de Dinechin spent two years from 2012 as chief executive and chair.
Pension Protection Fund – The UK government has appointed the chair of the PPF, selecting existing non-executive director Arnold Wagner for the role. Wagner, who joined the PPF in 2011, replaces Barbara Judge, who departs after six years’ chairing the UK lifeboat fund. In common with Judge, Wagner previously sat on the board of the UK Atomic Energy Agency as a non-executive director and chaired public and private sector remuneration committees. Meanwhile, Jayne Nickalls has been appointed as a non-executive director, joining from web-experience supplier Jadu.
The Pensions Trust – David Adkins is leaving the £7bn (€8.2bn) multi-employer pension fund for the charitable and voluntary sector. He had been its CIO since May 2010, joining from what was then Towers Watson. He had worked at the consultancy for more than 12 years. The trust has boosted its investment team with two hires from Aerion Fund Management, the in-house investment management arm of the National Grid UK pension scheme bought by Legal & General Investment Management last year. Emmanuel Bocquet has been appointed portfolio strategist, and John Steel joins the pension scheme as investment operations manager. Bocquet was most recently head of alternative investments at Aerion, where he spent more than 10 years. Steel was most recently COO at Aerion.
Pension Insurance Corporation – Arno Kitts has joined the board as a non-executive director and chair of the asset and liability-management committee. Kitts’s previous roles include managing director of BlackRock’s UK institutional business, head of Henderson Global Investors’s global distribution and head of JPMorgan’s asset management UK institutional business. He is also a member of the Pensions & Lifetime Savings Association defined benefit council.
Mirabaud Asset Management – Paul Waters has been appointed head of institutional for the UK and Netherlands. He joins from NN Investment Partners, where he was a director in the UK institutional business for five years. Before then, he worked at Flemings, Invesco and Aviva Investors.
KAS Bank – Hans Snijders has been nominated to sit on the supervisory board, replacing Jean Frijns, who departed in April after eight years. An extraordinary shareholders meeting is to be held on 2 September to formalise a decision on the appointment. From 2009 until the start of this year, Snijders was chief executive at Achmea Investment Management, in addition to his role as chief executive at Syntrus Achmea until the start of 2015.
AXA Investment Managers – Erik Jan van Bergen in the Netherlands has been appointed as head of pensions for Europe to lead the fiduciary management business. He joins from ACTIAM, where he was chief executive. Before then, he worked at Citigroup and ING Investment Management. Meanwhile, John Stainsby has been appointed as head of the UK client group, leading AXA IM’s UK distribution efforts across the institutional and wholesale segments. He joins from JP Morgan Asset Management, where he spent 16 years, most recently as head of UK institutional business.
M&G Investments – Micaela Forelli has been appointed country head for Switzerland at the investment manager, taking over the role from Volker Buschmann. Forelli has been working for M&G Investments since 2001. Manuele De Gennaro has been appointed head of institutional business development for M&G in Switzerland, which includes responsibility for Swiss pension funds. He also leads M&G’s Swiss real estate business. Xavier Gendre has been appointed senior sales manager, wholesale, for French-speaking Switzerland.
Kames Capital – Yasmine Ellis has been appointed business development manager within the UK wholesale-distribution team. She joins from Schroders, where she has worked within the business development team since 2009, covering UK multi-managers, private banks, wealth managers, family offices and funds of hedge funds.
bfinance – Niels Bodenheim has been appointed as director of debt services in the private markets team. He joins from GE Capital, where he has worked for the last 14 years. He was most recently executive director at Mubadala GE Capital, the commercial finance joint venture owned by the government of Abu Dhabi’s investment vehicle, Mubadala and General Electric.
Liquidnet – The institutional trading network has appointed Rebecca Healey as head of market structure and strategy. She joins from TABB Group, where she was principle European capital markets research analyst and consultant, and Incisus Partners, an independent research consultancy she founded in 2015.
