Insight Investment Management, the asset manager of HBOS, has announced that chief executive Douglas Ferrans will move into the role of chairman. Deputy chief executive Abdallah Nauphal has been promoted to become chief executive. He will retain his position as chief investment officer. Both appointments will take effect from July 1.

Barings Asset Management is looking for a new head of institutional sales for its German operations, following Bartlin Schöpflin's resignation. Barings AM in Germany has €1.4bn in asset under management from institutional investors in Germany, Austria and Luxembourg.

BlackRock's chief financial officer Steven Bullet has stepped down because of family health issues. Nonetheless, he will continue as the company's head of global accounting policies and controls. Paul Audet, head of the cash management business, has been appointed as acting CFO.

Goldman Sachs' Janet Whyte has been appointed as an associate at consultancy firm Mercer's London-based international retirement business. Mercer has also appointed Aon Consulting's Alex Thompson to research fixed income strategies for its European Manager team.

Credit Suisse's Emma Du Haney has been appointed as investment director at the asset management company Henderson Global Investors' fixed income team. The company has around £61bn asset under management.

Aidan Kearny will join Credit Suisse Asset Management's UK multi-manager team, which recently lost co-heads Gary Potter and Rob Burdett to Thames River Capital.

Michael Pomery, former president of the Institute of Actuaries, will be the new senior strategic adviser at PensionsRisk LLP, the venture between law firm Beachcroft, insurance advisers and consulting actuaries Paterson Martin and consultant Andrew Campbell-Hart.

Joyce St. Clair will be heading Northern Trust's global corporate risk team, the firm has announced today. For the new job she will move from London to Chicago. St. Clair, currently executive vice president for the company, will report to William Osborn, chairman and chief executive officer.

Pierre Ernst has been promoted to become member of the executive committee of Dexia Asset Management, head of operations, data management & reporting, and client administration on February 5. Previously, he was deputy managing director of the company's French bureau.

Standard & Poor's (S&P) has expanded its equity research European analytical team, by making eight new hires. Clive Roberts, Alicia Carrasco, Virginie Vacca, Kamal Khullar, Bela Agarwal, Phuon Pham, Marco Troiano and Aknit Jain will join the 15 new hires S&P already made earlier this year.

Daniel Rutz will join the Ukrainian investment management team of fund management company Fabien Pictet & Partners, where lead the investment team managing the Ukraine Opportunity Trust. The Kiev-based Rutz joins from Goetzpartners Corporate Finance, where he was executive director, media & communications and Central, Eastern & South-Eastern Europe.

Specialist pension law firm Sacker & Partners has appointed solicitor Sarah Phillips to join its London office. Philips joins from Clifford Chance, where she worked in the pension team since qualifying in 2001, the company said in statement.

Lane Clark & Peacock LLP has appointed six partners and one principal to strengthen its actuarial consulting teams in London and Winchester. New partners are Mark Alexander, Marc Bautista, Graham De'ath, Colin Haines, Jerome Melcer and Robert Murray. David Poynton has been appointed to principal.
