Dana Dillon has been appointed chair of the $159bn (€118.5bn) California State Teachers' Retirement System (CalSTRS). Jerilyn Harris replaces Dillon as vice-chair.
Winterthur Group's John Dacey will take over from Philippe Donnet as group regional chief executive for Japan Asia-Pacific at AXA Group. Donnet remains non-executive chairman of the board of AXA's insurance operations in Japan. Frank Keuper, has been appointed CEO of AXA Konzern in Germany.
New York-based Investment manager Tremont has named president Rupert Allan as CEO from June 1. Current CEO Robert Schulman will step down to become president of the organisation's single manager division, Rye Investment Management.
Viveka Ekberg, who developed hedge fund strategies at Brummer & Partners, at Scandinavia's largest hedge fund firm, has joined Morgan Stanley to head up the investment bank's Nordic business unit.
Frank Witt, senior vice president at PIMCO, will head the fixed-income manager's German and Austrian business development unit in Munich. He succeeds Dirk Klee who moved Allianz Global Investors Germany to head their distribution channels. Goldman Sach's Jamil Baz will join PIMCO's London-based global portfolio management team in May.
Christopher Tauber has joined Mercer Investment Consulting as a principal and senior investment consultant. Joining from R.V. Kuhns & Associates, he will be based in Seattle, responsible for managing and developing institutional client relationships.

Northern Trust has hired Kate Stallard as a business development manager in its asset servicing sales team to focus on fund administration and custody sales to traditional and alternative asset managers in the Channel Islands. Stallard joins from HSBC Securities Services.
Danish GES Investment Services has appointed GE Money Bank's Helene Regnell as its new research Director. Magdalena Håkansson joins GES as client manager. She previously worked at SEB Wealth Management. Anna Zetterström, who has worked at the Permanent Mission of Sweden to the United Nations in Geneva, joins GES' analyst team. The company also said it is in the process of recruiting two more research analysts, one for the Stockholm office and one for Copenhagen.
BISYS Alternative Investment Services said it has named Fulcrum Fund Services' Carsten Jerrild as director of business development for its alternative investment services business. Located in New York, he will report to Bob Donahoe, managing director of BISYS Alternative Investment Services.
