Private Advisors - The private equity and hedge fund investment firm has hired Jens Bisgaard-Frantzen to head its new London office - launched to spearhead the development of a global private equity investment capability. Bisgaard-Frantzen most recently served as the chief executive and managing partner of ATP Private Equity Partners, the private equity arm of Danish pension fund ATP.
State Street Global Advisors - Bill Street - formerly of Hypovereinsbank - is the new head of international active rates. Peter Spano, previously working at the National Bank of Slovakia, has started with the fixed income beta solutions team as investment manager, while Lee Collins joins Spano as assistant investment manager after moving from SSgA's fixed income operations. Rob Dowling has been promoted to portfolio manager in the global structured products group, while Jenya Emets has moved from SSgA's Tokyo office to take up the position of product engineer on the European active equity team.
Furthermore, SSgA has strengthened its client service team with Scott MacMillan from Resolution Life, Sophia Papagiannopoulou from Citibank, Julie Caffrey from Equitas, and Andrew Wold, transferring from SSgA's Munich office.
BNP Paribas - Joining from Credit Suisse's Frankfurt office, Markus Wedel started earlier this month as head of equity derivatives flow and financing sales for Germany, Austria and Switzerland. Also joining from Credit Suisse are Federico Ursino and Alexander Neumann, to strengthen coverage in the German, Austrian and Swiss markets.
Bear Stearns Asset Management- James O'Sahughnessy, head of the systematic equity team, is set to leave to set up his own firm, taking about 15 staff with him. Bear Stearns will retain a minority stake in O'Sahughnessy Asset Management.
Henderson Global Investors - George Latham has been promoted to head of SRI funds, after Nick Robins left to join HSBC's investment banking arm. Latham will continue to manage the Global Care UK income and Global Care managed funds.
P-Solve Alternative Investments - Lee McCulloch-James has left MSCIBarra to rejoin the fund of hedge funds manager as quantitative risk manager. He started on July 13.
AXA Investment Managers - Axa has hired Mark Benstead and Philip Chow as portfolio managers for its London-based fixed income team. Benstead joins from Royal Bank of Canada Capital Markets (RBCCM) and Chow from F&C Asset Management.
Financial Reporting Council - Andy Simmonds and Nick Anderson will join the Accounting Standards Board from September 1. Simmonds is a consultation partner in the national accounting and audit department of Deloitte in London, while Anderson is head of equity research at Insight Investment.
ETF Securities - Barclays Global Investors' Feargal Dempsey has been appointed as head of legal, to increase ETF's product offering globally, the company has said in a statement.
