F&C Asset Management - Erik Orving is leaving Goldman Sachs Asset Management to head up F&C's Nordic operations from September. This is part of a three-year recovery program that includes expanding the firm's continental European business as well as plans to open a Stockholm office before the end of the year.
Carnegie - Per Axman is joining the Sweden-based investment bank as group head of asset management and private banking. He will assume his position on August 13, while Lars Bjerrek, group head of private banking, and Niklas Ekvall, group head of asset management, have decided to leave Carnegie. "A general manager for the two business areas will create greater opportunities for business coordination," according to Carnegie.
TIAA-CREF - The $380bn US educational retirement savings group has named Maliz Beams as executive vice president for individual client services. She succeeds Frances Nolan, who has been appointed as vice chairman of TIAA.
Schoders - The firm has nabbed ABN Amro's Andrew Connell as head of liability driven investments (LDI). He joins on August 6 and will be responsible for the development of LDI at Schroders. In addition, Watson Wyatt's senior investment consultant Mark Humphreys has joined the strategic solutions team.
International Asset Management Limited - Morten Spenner today replaces Albert Fuss as chief executive officer. Fuss becomes executive director of the business, retaining an active involvement in investment management and client relationships. Spenner has been at IAM since 2003, working in a strategic, planning and advisory role with Fuss.
Scottish Widows Investment Partnership - Malcolm Naish has been appointed to succeed Tom Laidlaw as new head of property at SWIP. Laidlaw left last year to set up his own company Cordatus Partners. Naish joins in October from DTZ Investment Management. SWIP has additionally appointed Haseeb Hassan and Mark Briggs as investment managers within SWIP's UK property team.
Pension Corporation - Edmund Truell's fledgling pension buy-out company says it has hired Charlotte Crosswell from NASDAQ. She was appointed head of business development.
Sacker & Partners LLP - Associates Claire Altman, Andrew Bradshaw and Ian Cormican have been promoted to partners at London-based pension law firm Sacker & Partners LLP.
Deutsche Asset Management - Union Investment's Julia Beinker and Anne Coupe have been hired as new head of consultant relations for Europe and the mid-western US, respectively. Beinker will be based in Frankfurt, while Coupe will work from Chicago, joining from William Blair & Company.
CB Richard Ellis Investors - The global investor services team has promoted Nicole Bise to director. Laura Wilks, who has also spent the last three years working with CBRE Investors' UK managed accounts group, has joined the team as an associate. Jane Hufnagel, who currently oversees investor reporting for CBRE Investors, is also expanding her role to include investor and internal communications, and will play a larger role in the firm's global communications strategy. All three are based in Los Angeles.
Credit Suisse Asset Management - JP Morgan Securities Services' Connie Holden joined CSAM's UK institutional distribution team as director. Based in London, she will be responsible for maintaining and developing business relationships with institutional clients in the UK and Ireland.
Norilsk Nickel - The Russian, Moscow-based non-state pension fund announced earlier this week it has appointed Igor Zhuk as chief executive officer. Zhuk joins from insurance company Soglasiye.
