Northern Trust Global Advisors - William Huffman, chairman, president and chief executive officer (CEO) of NTGA, and CEO of Northern Trust Global Investments Limited (NTGIL), has resigned "for personal reasons", the firm has said. Alan Robertson, group head of wealth advisory services, in Northern Trust's personal financial services business, replaces Huffman at NTGA, while Richard Bartholomew has been promoted to replace Huffman at NTGIL.
PIMCO - PIMCO is looking for a new Nordic director of business development, following Peter Lindgren's departure. He officially leaves in September "to pursue other opportunities", and is currently on gardening leave.
Mercer - Johanna Milne has been appointed European head of business development at the consultancy. Before joining Mercer she was in corporate governance, heading up the European sales efforts for both ISS Europe and Glass Lewis & Co. She is based in London. Furthermore, UniSuper's Helga Birgden is to lead its Responsible Investment (RI) business unit across the Asia-Pacific.
Funds at Work - The Frankfurt-based fund companies consultant has announced the departure of co-founder and managing partner Jan Altmann. Murat Ünal, the consultant's other managing partner, said Altmann had left to "enjoy more freedom in both private and professional pursuits". Ünal and Altmann launched Funds at Work in 2002.
Credit Suisse - Graham Ashby, Michael Crawford and Marcus Chandler have started as portfolio managers for the company's UK and global equity income team, based in London. Sarasin's Ashby now is managing director and head of UK retail equities. Bessemer Trust's Crawford's job title is director and portfolio manager, while Chandler, vice president and portfolio manager, also joins from Sarasin.
EDHEC - Pierre Mella-Barral has been appointed professor of finance at EDHEC Business School. He previously taught finance and economics at HEC Paris from 2004, and finance at the London School of Economics as well as at the London Business School.
The Pensions Board - Mary Hutch has been promoted to head of investigations and compliance at the Irish Pensions Board. It is the responsibility of the Investigations and Compliance Unit to monitor compliance with the requirements of the Pensions Act.
The Riverside Company - Lars Eriksson has joined the private equity investor's Stockholm office, where he will be responsible for initiating transactions in the Nordic region.
Threadneedle Investments - Clareville Capital's Dan Ison joins early next month as head of pan-European equities. He will assume responsibility for the management of the Threadneedle Pan European Accelerando Fund (£242m).
Investec Asset Management - Richard Benson of Fisher Francis Trees and Watts, a former warfare officer in the Royal Navy, has joined Investec's specialist currency management team as portfolio manager.
Atlantis Investment Management - Amit Mehta joins the Asian equity asset management firm as an analyst/fund manager on the Atlantis Asian Ex-Japan team. She joins from Morley Fund Management, and is based in London.
Dimensional - The California-headquartered investment firm has just recruited Ken Tomlin, joining from Societe Generale Asset Management, as head of UK business development, and Mark Stevens, from Henderson, as manager for institutional client service.
Money & Pensions Panel - Torben Hansen, professor of consumer behaviour at the Copenhagen Business School, has been appointed chairman of Denmark's Money and Pensions Panel, a new body given the task of sharpening consumer awareness of financial products.
