ATP - Christian Brønden Petersen has been hired as an associate at the Danish pension funds. He previously worked as an analyst at PriceWaterhouseCoopers.

Akkermans Stroobants & Partners - Karel Stroobants, the founder of Stroobants, has now sold his shares in the firm and left the company. Stroobants told IPE he left the firm, which merged with Akkermans as a Belgian offshoot, because it is now largely involved in staff outsourcing - a significant shift from his focus on pension fund board membership. Karel intends to continue working as an independent members of European pension fund boards, as well as support other independent pension board members with training and information assisting their roles.

Punter Southall - The consulting actuary firm has signed Mary McGrath as principal and head of marketing and business development, a new senior role within the firm from 2008. She joins from Lane Clark & Peacock, where she is a partner heading up the business development, marketing and PR.

Watson Wyatt - Stephanie Dean and Denis Musiyichuk have joined Watson Wyatt's manager research team. Dean, a qualified accountant, was previously supervising hedge fund firms at the Financial Services Authority and Denis will focus on quantitative research at its Reigate office, having joined from analyst house bfinance. Luba Nikulina has also moved to the New York office, to researching private equity and infrastructure managers, and Ben Griffiths has transferred from Sydney to Reigate.

Aon - Aon Consulting has appointed Colin Hamilton as sales director for pensions administration. He joins from Capita Hartshead, where he was responsible for new business development among large UK private sector pension schemes.
 
Santander - Camilla Crowe has been named as vice president of consultant relations at Santander's alternative investment group based in London, tasked with marketing Swiss-based Optimal's funds to consultants and pension funds in the UK and Europe. She joins from BNY Mellon Asset Management in London where she was
associate director of European consultant relations.

Octane Holding - The Swiss-based fund of hedge funds provider has made several changes to its management structure, including the appointment of a new chief executive. Robbie Alexander, until now CEO of Octane, and Dr. Gerald Gonzenbach, executive vice-chairman, have switched roles, while Duncan Theron, former managing director for Pan-Africa, joins the executive team as managing director.
James Canales, former head of risk, is now chief investment officer, while acting cio Mustafa Zaidi will remain chairman of funds and focus on new strategic projects. Mark Shore becomes head of risk.

Intermediate Capital Management Limited - Dagmar Kent Kershaw has been hired by International Capital Group to head its CDO & institutional mandate team within its fund management subsidiary ICML. She was previously founder and head of structured products at Prudential M&G for the last seven years.

Jupiter Asset Management - Keith Marsden has been made director of central client services, a newly-created role at the asset manager. Marsden has moved from Capita Group where he was chairman and chief executive prior to that.

Baring Asset Management - Christophe Pella, Dagmar Dvorak and Will Nef have joined Barings' fixed income team as investment managers. Pella will be working with Angelina Cheuh, fixed income and currency manager, having previously been senior fixed income portfolio manager at AXA-Winterthur in Zurich. Dvorak will work with managers of the Directional global bond trust and the global bond fund. She joins from Barclays Wealth, where she was a high grade debt analyst . Nef will focus on emerging market debt and high yield mandates, having left F&C Investments as assistant fund manager of emerging market debt securities.

Credit Suisse - Rami Hayek is joining the asset management division from Deutsche Bank Private Wealth Management where he was global head of equity and fixed income investments. Hayek will become Asia Pacific co-head of distribution, working alongside fellow co-head Omar Cordes. Based in Hong Kong, Hayek will report to JC Perrig, head of distribution for asset management, and Anthony Iliya, executive vice-chairman of asset management for Asia Pacific.

BNP Paribas - Guido van Hauwermeiren has been appointed co-head of emerging markets for the firm's international retail banking and financial services
core business. He will be based in Paris, having joined the division last September.

CFA - Joe Biernat, director of research at European Credit Management, is to become the first chairman of the UK's CFA Society of the UK, taking over from Colin McLean, as chairman of the Society. George Spentzos, also takes over from David Sellors as vice-chairman and Richard Rothwell will become treasurer.
