Aon Consulting - Ron Amy is to retire as chairman of the UK business, after 12 years with the company. He will continue to be a non-executive director of Aon Limited and has a number of personal appointments as the independent chairman of trustees of large pension schemes. Robert Middleton will assume Amy's chair responsibilities under his continued chief executive title.
PPF - The UK's pension protection fund is looking for a new head of asset management after the departure of Stuart Barker to Mercer. He rejoins the consultant as national client service leader in London, focusing on administration services for discontinued pension schemes.
BVI - Sebastian Klein and Thomas Richter have joined the nine-strong executive committee of the BVI, the German organisation for investments and Asset managements, succeeding Axel-Günther Benkner and Detlev Dietz. Klein is spokesman for the management of Cominvest Asset Management and managing director of Commerz Asset Management Holding, while Richter heads DWS Investment.
Punter Southall Transaction Services - James Saunders has left PricewaterhouseCoopers, where he has worked from 2002, to rejoin Punter Southall as a principal.
Société Générale Asset Management - Isabelle de Gavoty has left Axa Investment Managers to head SGAM's small and mid cap Euro-Europe equity management.
SEB - Mats Galvenius is the new client executive for global institutional investors within the Stockholm-based financial institutions group of the client relationship management unit. He joins from the Central Bank of Bahrain. In Germany, SEB Asset Management has recruited Cominvest's Ralf Bartl and Henrike Hegeler, already at SEB. Since this week both have joined the client solutions team, Bartl for wholesale, and Hegeler for corporations and institutions.
BlackRock - James Ray has started at the UK institutional sales team in London. He previously was with the consultancy firm Gissings. Also, BlackRock has promoted Mark Johnson to lead the UK sales effort. BlackRock sais the appointments were made in the firm's effort to broaden its UK business development resources as pension schemes and corporates increasingly seek multi-asset solutions.
Hewitt Associates - Stephan Cronjé has joined the retirement consulting team in Greece. Previously at Watson Wyatt in New York, Cronjé will be based in Hewitt's Athens office.
Investec Asset Management - Amr Seif has been hired as portfolio manager for Investec's former Africa investing team, Frontier. London-based Seif joins from JP Morgan.
Sacker & Partners - Solicitors Nicola Bruce, Sarah Stimpson and Katherine Swire have joined the UK pension law firm. Bruce and Stimpson join straight from university, Swire has been working as a trainee solicitor since graduation.
