Nordea - Fredrik Rystedt, chief financial officer (CFO) and senior vice president of Electrolux Group, has been appointed new head of group corporate centre, CFO and member of group executive management of Nordea. He will take up his new position by October 1 at the latest, replacing Arne Liljedahl, who has decided to step down from his position by the end of 2008.

Close Brothers - Martin Andrew will be promoted to chief executive of the asset management division with effect from May 1. Current CEO Jonathan Sieff will be stepping down, as will Rufus Warner, chief executive of Close Investments.

Threadneedle - Alessandro Aspesi has left UBS, where he was head of wholesale for Italy, to head Threadneedle's first Italian office in Milan. Aspesi will initially lead a team of four but this is expected to grow further.

Aegon - Marco Keim, since 2002 chief executive of Swiss Life in the Netherlands, has been appointed chief executive officer at Aegon's Dutch unit.

AIG Investments - Morley Fund Management's Paul Waters joins as head of UK business development in London, responsible for developing the company's UK Institutional business. Stefan Niederer joins the Zürich office as vice president of business development Europe from Union Bancaire Privée (UBP).

Northern Trust - Eric Pouwels has been promoted to managing director of the Dutch office, in Amsterdam, with responsibility for overseeing Northern Trust's activities in The Netherlands. In addition, Wim van Ooijen has been promoted to head of asset servicing client relationship management for the region.

National Association of Pension Funds - The NAPF has elected Lynn Collins of Marks & Spencer to serve on its Benefits Council. Diana Geneen from United Biscuits was re-elected. Kevin Carter of JP Morgan was elected on the Investment Council, while Richard Barlow, from Electricity Pensions Services, and Andrew Kirton, from Mercer, were re-elected.

Erste-Sparinvest - Pioneer Investments' Paul Severin has joined the investment arm of Erste Bank and the Austrian Saving Bank for equity strategy and product management. Gerhard Winzer has left Raiffeisen Zentralbank to join the firm as senior bond funds manager.

BNY Mellon Asset Management - Paul Feeney, previously with Gartmore Investments, has been appointed as head of distribution for the international business.

Henderson Global Investors - Eurizon Capital Sgr's Alberto Albertazzi is the new fund manager of the closed Azurro fund, which provides institutional investors with an exposure to the Italian property retail sector.

Watson Wyatt - Christopher DeMeo has joined the New York office from Russell Investments where he was director of investment strategy for its North America Institutional Investment group.

TIAA-CREF - The Teachers Insurance and Annuity Association has tapped Swiss Re's Roger Ferguson as president and CEO to replace the retiring Herbert Allison. Ronald Thompson was appointed chair of the TIAA board, effective April 14.

SWX Europe - Mark Ryland will join the London-based securities
exchange owned by SWX Swiss Exchangeon on April 21 as its new chief operating officer (COO). Ryland previously was a director at Merrill Lynch where he was global co-head of cash equity systems renovation.
